Zipato Smoke Sensor is Z-Wave Plus(tm) product, it supports security, OTA and all other new features of the 500 Series Z-Wave chipset. Z-Wave is a wireless communication protocol designed for remote control of appliances in residential automated homes and light commercial environments.It can be used with lighting systems, home access control, entertainment systems and house appliances. This product can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from other manufacturers and/or other applications. All non-battery operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of the vendor to increase reliability of the network.

IS THERE A WAY IN WHICH I COULD TEST MY SMOKE DETECTOR?
You can test the sensor by pushing firmly on the test button for around 2 seconds until the horn sounds, the sound pattern is 3 beeps, pause, and then 3 beeps with the red LED flashing continuously and rapidly, and the controller will receive a smoke alarm test notification. If the Smoke Sensor beeps three times with the yellow LED flashing three times in 43 seconds, it indicates the Smoke Sensor is not working properly, so it needs to be repaired. This is the only way to make sure that the Smoke Sensor device is working properly. If the device fails to test properly, have it repaired or replaced immediately. If you suspect your Smoke Sensor’s alarm does not work, test it by pressing the test button to ensure it works properly.
WHERE SHOULD I PLACE MY SMOKE ALARMS?
It is important that you have the proper placement for your smoke alarms. Install your alarms at least 20 feet from appliances like furnaces and ovens, which produce combustion particles. Alarms should be at least 10 feet from high humidity areas like showers and laundry rooms, and at least 3 feet from heat/AC vents.
WHAT REPLACEMENT BATTERIES CAN I USE?
The proper battery type is a CR123A 3.0V non-rechargeable battery. Never use rechargeable batteries because they may not always provide a consistent charge.
HOW DO I CHECK MY BATTERY STATUS ON MY SMOKE DETECTOR?
Once you add your smoke detector to your controller, you can always check your battery status on the site:my.zipato.com. It will be displayed as a gradient of a filled white battery icon.
